The Oklahoma Foundation for the Education of Blind Children and Youth, Inc. (OFEBCYI) is a non-profit educational foundation as determined by IRS 501 (c) (3) documentation. Its sole purpose is to improve the quality of education for visually impaired and blind children and youth in the state of Oklahoma.



Founded in 1994, the OFEBCYI raises funds to provide visually impaired and blind children with a wide variety of educational opportunities and experiences, consequently, enabling them to develop to the best of their abilities and to become productive citizens in today’s society. The following goals are accomplished with available funding:



1. The acquisition of assistive technology for visually impaired and blind youth; for use of Braille and other communications necessary to educate such youth.



2. The enhancement of the social and emotional well-being of visually impaired and blind youth.



3. The development of all related abilities which will promote independence in visually impaired and blind individuals.



4. The development of vocational skills to effectively compete in today’s job market.



5. The promotion of research activities found useful in the total education of visually impaired and blind youth.
